Daisy Mae
Born: May 16, 2025
White with black spots, longhair
Female, spayed
Vax, dewormed, no special needs other than she only has one eye

Daisy Mae is somewhat long hair, with a fluffy tail but shorter hair on her body. She has green eyes, a pink nose and is white with a couple of black patches.
Daisy is a very sweet girl, somewhat of an introvert. In the beginning, she was in a lot of pain and all the treatments she had to endure didn't help. As she started to feel better, her playful side started to show.
She likes quiet, centered people--loud, active people make her anxious and nervous. Bonding, however, can take her awhile--she first has to settle in a new environment before she becomes comfortable with the people in it.
She is still a kitten but had to be kept by herself for her own safety when she was younger, so she is still learning to play.
Any potential playmates would have to be very carefully considered, so that she doesn't get hurt by accidental or overzealous play. She does like other cats.

She had to had an eye removed after suffering trauma before we got her, when she was just a little kitten. She sees fine out of her remaining eye, although she can be a bit clumsy around her food and water bowls! At this point, no further care is needed for her eye and it no longer causes her pain.

The image is graphic, but Daisy Mae was in terrible shape when we took her in from San Bernardino Shelter. Details to come.

At 5 weeks old when we got her, Daisy Mae only weighed half a pound! She was literally on death's door.
She had been attacked by something, which grabbed her by her shoulders and left wounds. Her face was slammed into hard ground, rupturing her eye, leaving scabs on her chin and face. Her front paws had knuckled over, leaving wounds.
She had diarrhea, upper respiratory infection (both viral and bacterial), fleas, worms and wouldn't eat.
The shelter was going to euthanize her.
In this photo, she buried herself into a soft, warm bed for probably the first safe, soft sleep she ever had.

Daisy on the mend. It took a long time and a lot of care, but you can see the improvement here. Most of her wounds had healed, but she was still receiving eye treatments and had gastric issues (all those are taken care of now).
